of course it is. and if he can utilize the funds that he has been awarded by various organizations then i would say there is chance for hope. and right now India has won 3 medals which is remarkable with respect to previous Olympics but its a pathetic show. being a nation with this huge man power and skill, govt is wasting the talent. take the case of USA. in an university it is compulsory for a student to take up a sport along with his academics. this would encourage him to pursue the sport if he is found good at it and get proper training. no wonder why USA has such a huge participation in the games. What I would say is that apart from treating these medal winners as heroes, the govt should also encourage colleges and schools to identify talents and groom them, so as to hope for a competition from our nation in the coming years.
Thank god that India got a gold and 2 bronze medals. This should be a wake up call for India.A country with a huge population shouldn't sit down with the 3 medals they got, we should really learn something from our neighbor CHINA...they have atlast come up to the top spot from years of hard work..they have been improving marvelously over past few year to get this spot..i hope Indian govt. will get to do something for the next olympics and also in the Asian games....
Exactly. We have a lot to learn from them. Previous time they had the most number of medals but lost out because they didnt have the most number of gold. But if you look at this years olympics, China has dominated almost all fields and has captures the majority gold in most events. Even though USA has more medals China is on top because they got most number of Gold medals. While our nation and govt is happy about our performance. The major set back is in the event of hockey. Our national game. And we are not there participating also because we couldnt qualify. What a shame. Pure disregard and negligence for the sport.
I do believe that the youth will be truly inspired by them, due to the immense popularity will be getting. Also dont forget anout the amount of cash the government and other sources will pour on their head.
Hope they don't get carried away and perform better the next time too.
